The Boardwalk

WEST MERSEA IS LOCATED IN AN AREA OF THE HIGHEST SIGNIFICANCE IN TERMS OF NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. WHAT DEVELOPMENT SHOULD TAKE PLACE SO THAT THIS ENVIRONMENT IS PERSERVED WHILST MAKING IT AVAILABE TO ENJOY? THAT IS THE CONSIDERATION THAT WE ARE BALANCING AT THE PRESENT TIME CONCERNING THE BOARDWALK.

Future Plans

This has come to the fore as a result of the current boardwalk falling into disrepair and plans by the Town Council to restore it. The City council has a duty under the habits regulations to ensure that planning application decisions comply with the habitat regulations.

Our Role

We will be examining the planning application when made. The Town council has said that its intentions is to replace the structure like for like in terms of size and will be upgrading with the material to be environmentally friendly and decreasing the impact on the land with no boring holes as per the existing structure. We will want to ensure that due regard is made to the local environment and protected habitats.
